When allowed to breathe, wet rock austereness opens into blackberry jam, vanilla and nutmeg oak with Satsuma plums. Caramel bread pudding aromas are layered with the floral highlights of violets and hints of black pepper and licorice. Ripe blackberry jam fruit is wrapped in youthful tannins which will demand extended bottle aging in the short-term. Decanting (or further bottle age) will develop the rich, sexy texture that accompanies the alluringly lengthy finish found in our Calistoga Estate wines.
