Nominations

Building on its history of community involvement and the tradition that began with the program launch in 2008, Markham Vineyards will again award $25,000 to two organizations to continue projects that make positive, visible impacts on their community.  To enter, applicants were required to submit an essay describing the project and a supporting budget.

From April to July, hundreds of worth proposals were submitted.  Projects ranged from large national outreach programs to grassroots initiatives in need of startup funding, like renovating dilapidated homes to improving access to charitable benefits.  These were judged on originality, ability to make a true impact on the community and feasibility of project execution.

After a month-long voting phase among 10 worthy finalists, the public has spoken.  We are proud to annouce that this year's two $25,000 grants are Operation: Connect Kids to the Outdoors and East Side Heart & Home.  Congratulations to both organizations!
